Another Reminder That Julian Wilson’s Surfing Is Sharp As Ever

Julian Wilson is an Australian professional surfer who has been competing on the World Surf League (WSL) Championship Tour since 2015. He has won three WSL events, including the 2018 Quiksilver Pro Gold Coast. Wilson is known for his aggressive surfing style and his ability to perform aerial maneuvers. He is also a talented musician and has released several songs and albums.

Wilson started surfing at a young age and quickly rose through the ranks of junior surfing. He won the Rip Curl GromSearch in 2006 and the World Junior Surfing Championship in 2008. Wilson made his WSL Championship Tour debut in 2015 and finished the year ranked 22nd. He improved his ranking to 13th in 2016 and 10th in 2017. Wilson won his first WSL event at the 2017 Hurley Pro at Trestles. He followed that up with wins at the 2018 Quiksilver Pro Gold Coast and the 2019 Rip Curl Pro Bells Beach.

Wilson’s surfing style is characterized by his aggressive approach and his ability to perform aerial maneuvers. He is also a very good all-around surfer and is able to adapt to different wave conditions. Wilson’s favorite wave is the right-hand point break at Snapper Rocks on the Gold Coast of Australia. He has won the Quiksilver Pro Gold Coast three times, more than any other surfer.

Away From Surfing

In addition to surfing, Wilson is also a talented musician. He has released several songs and albums and has toured with bands such as Pearl Jam and The Strokes. Wilson is also a supporter of several charities, including the Surfrider Foundation and the Sea Shepherd Conservation Society.

Injury Setback

In 2019, Wilson suffered a serious head injury while surfing at Pipeline on the North Shore of Oahu. He was knocked unconscious and had to be airlifted to a hospital. Wilson underwent surgery and was placed in a medically induced coma. He was released from the hospital after a few weeks and made a full recovery. Wilson returned to competition in 2020 and is currently ranked 11th on the WSL Championship Tour.

Still a Force

Julian Wilson is one of the most talented and exciting surfers in the world. He is a three-time WSL event winner and is a favorite to win the WSL Championship Tour title. Wilson is also a talented musician and is a supporter of several charities. Despite suffering a serious head injury in 2019, Wilson has made a full recovery and is back to competing at the highest level.
