AC-130 Gunship Rips Apart Warship

As shown in a video released by the US military, the decommissioned US Navy warship ex-USS Dubuque was sunk during the Rim of the Pacific (RIMPAC) exercise on August 2024. The large-scale exercise involved approximately 25,000 personnel from 29 nations, over 150 aircraft, 40 ships, and three submarines.

During the exercise, two target ships were sunk, including the USS Dubuque. The video shows an AC-130J Ghostrider gunship firing Hellfire missiles at the ship, causing significant damage. The gunships are known for their devastating firepower and are often used to provide close air support for ground troops.

The sinking of the target ships is a demonstration of the US military's ability to conduct complex operations in the Pacific region. The exercise also serves as a warning to potential adversaries, showcasing the US's commitment to maintaining its presence in the region.
